A tarpaulin is a large, strong, flexible, water-resistant fabric, either canvas or polyester coated with urethane that is used to provide protection against wind, rain, storm, etc. Like tents, the fabric used in the production of tarp contains an impregnation coating and is breathable, rot-proof, anti-bacterial in nature with flame, UV, and extreme weather resistance. It has a good lightfastness and often finds applications as boat covers or vehicle covers apart from providing shelter.

The commonly used qualities for the manufacture of Tarp are 10 oz 12 oz, 13oz, 15 oz, 16oz &18 oz in plain, and RIB STOP pattern.
