A tarpaulin is a large, strong, flexible, water-resistant fabric – either canvas or polyester coated with urethane – used to provide protection against wind, rain, and storms. Like tents, the fabric used to produce tarpaulins carries an impregnation coating and is breathable, rot-proof, and anti-bacterial, with flame, UV, and extreme weather resistance.
